Kitella
Hello, my name is Kitella. I’m
from an Ik village in Uganda. I don’t
have the Bible.
Ik
(Ick)
33
My people are isolated. That means
we live far away from other people
and from cities. Many wars have
happened in our country, especially
in the northern part of Uganda.
That’s where I live. War can make
people more isolated, and it can
be tough to know if people need a
Bible if they’re hard to 昀椀nd!
My family and I speak Ik, but our
language is still being developed.
That means people are writing
down and recording our language
so it won’t be forgotten or stop
being used. If people quit using it,
then no one will be able to read the
Bible in Ik.
